Mepiquat Chloride, the Little Secret You Don't Know

98% mepiquat chloride: common name (ketamine), full chemical name NN dimethylpiperidium chloride. It belongs to piperidine plant growth regulator.

Mechanism of action: by inhibiting the formation of kaurene, the precursor of gibberellin, changing the cell shape, but not affecting the number of cell divisions, the internode can be shortened to achieve the effect of dwarfing plants.

Product properties: mepiquat chloride is a white crystal or yellowish hygroscopic microcrystalline powder, which has no peculiar smell and is easy to absorb moisture and agglomerate, which does not affect the efficacy.

Efficacy: mepiquat chloride is a new type of plant growth regulator, which has good internal absorption and conduction effect on plants. It can improve the vitality of root system, inhibit the vegetative growth of stem and leaf, promote the reproductive growth of cotton, control the lateral branches, shape the ideal plant type, improve the light transmittance of cotton population, so as to improve the yield and fiber quality of cotton. It is suitable for controlling the flourishing, fruit setting and yield increasing of cotton.

Other effects of mepiquat chloride on Cotton:

1. It can prevent cotton from growing too fast, effectively reduce plant height and length of nodes between branches, reduce angle between branches and area of leaves, improve ventilation and light transmittance, and benefit the growth of lower part of cotton peach. Also, it help reduce the water consumption per mu and the incidence of premature aging.

3. Mepiquat chloride can change the shape of cotton cell division without affecting the number of cell divisions. The toughness of cotton leaves and growth points is enhanced. Because aphid has the tendency of color and tenderness, the use of mepiquat chloride spray can significantly improve the aphid resistance of cotton.

4. The cotton field with mepiquat chloride spray can increase the activity of nitrate reductase and glutamate synthetase, enhance photosynthesis, enhance cotton growth, and significantly increase the ability of cotton to resist Verticillium wilt.

Application technology and method of mepiquat chloride:

The use amount of geology, temperature, water and fertilizer, varieties and so on are different in different areas. Please use them under the guidance of local agricultural technicians. Generally recommended usage is as follows:

Bud stage: 0.5-1g/mu, water 15-20 kg spray. (promote root, strengthen bud, shrink node)

Initial flowering period: 2-3 grams/mu, water 30-40 kg spray. (knot reduction, flower promotion, peach setting)

Full bloom period: 3-4 grams/mu, water 40-50 kg spray. (necking, peach sitting, shaping)

After topping: 8-12 grams/mu, water 40-50 kg spray. (set peach, improve light transmittance and promote photosynthesis)
